Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret group.
The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an special katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime properties. The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
